The Victory Park

Victory Park is a memorial complex of New Uzbekistan, which opened on the specified date, to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, despite the fact that its construction was complicated by quarantine restrictions in 2020. The project of this park was developed in accordance with the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2019. The park covered not only the history of the war years, but also the history of Uzbekistan up to the present day.

Victory Park is designed in such way that it allows you to experience the full range of emotions of the war years: horror at the very beginning of the war, fear for five long years, support and prayers of families, brave heroism and steadfastness of soldiers, grief and pain of loss, gratitude and joy of Victory, and most importantly – boundless love, which connected the as red thread all these emotions.

The theme areas of the Park allow you to feel all these emotions.

The first zone of the Park begins with the first day of the war – June 22, 1941 – “The Horrors of War”. Passing through this zone, you can immediately feel all the horror and fear of the war years, which is conveyed by sculptures of heroes of soldiers, tanks, weapons. After the first zone, visitors enter a more “calm” infirmary, where the models vividly convey how doctors fought for the lives of wounded soldiers.

The monument in memory of the steadfastness of Zulfiya Zakirova, a inconsolable mother who lost five sons in the war, but did not break down and did not let her family split, reflects that the women who stayed at home were also heroes.

The next area of the park is the railway station, which saw trains of wounded and evacuees, through which food and letters were sent to the front – “Everything for the front, everything for Victory!”.

Stories about veterans, their exploits and their photos will accompany visitors during the entire walk through the Park. The crown of the whole Park is the Museum of Glory, which consists of six zones and no less colorfully conveys all the emotions of the war years.

The first zone is the beginning of the war, where the walls are completely covered with the main dates of the war, which marked the defense of large cities.

“Uzbekistan is a reliable rear,” is the name of the second section of the Park. The exploits of our compatriots during the war are presented here, and special attention is paid to Abdusamat Taymetov. The first Uzbek pilot by nationality, during the war he was the commander of a pilot training squadron, during the war he trained 71 specialists, and on May 9, 1945 he was one of the crew members who delivered the Victory Banner and the Act of Unconditional Surrender of Germany to Moscow.

The third zone is about the life of our region during the war years, about how science, education and culture developed, despite the fact that about two million Uzbeks were mobilized to the front, and every third of them did not return.

The fourth is the stories of memories of the war.

The fifth zone presents art and fiction of the war years.

The final, sixth zone is the Book of Memory, which contains documents of the war years and other exhibits called “The feat of heroes, lives forever!”.

The second floor of the museum takes visitors back from an exciting journey of the past to our days, here you can view archival footage and paintings.

In addition, 16 Trees of the World were planted in the Park in 2021, thereby the Park supported the global project “Tree of the World”.
